About Us

Dom has worked in the Film and Television Industry since starting his apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery in 1986, predominately making all the old TV shows of the 80’s and 90’s.

He spent most of his weekends as a child in various film studios exploring the sets of many great films as his father was an Art Director and Dom was once on screen as the young boy in the opening sequence of The Deep back in 1977.

After his apprenticeship, Dom moved into film progressing rapidly through the grades, undertaking his first role as Construction Manager in 2004.

In 2006 Dom and Nicky with the kids emigrated to Australia. Whilst there Dom became the Construction Manager for HBO’s The Pacific and received an honours award from The Primetime Emmie’s 2010 for his contribution towards the project.

Whilst in Australia Dom was also a project manager for a number of special projects outside of film including the Sea world Stunts Show, Sydney Museum installations and various Restaurant and Bar creative makeovers.

Returning to the Uk in 2011, Dom and Nicky set up their Company Stringybark to offer creative construction to both Feature and Independent films, Television, Commercials and events.

Nicky has a First class Bachelors Degree with Commendation for Sustainable Planning and Urban Design which she gained while living in Australia.

When Stringybark was formed she took on the role of Construction Buyer and Coordinator, swiftly moving into the position of Assistant Construction Manager and is now a Construction Manager along with Dom within the company.
